Auto Repair for the Greater Dayton Area
Murphy's Autocare has been part of the Dayton automotive landscape since Dave Murphy opened his first shop in 1974. Over fifty years later, the business has grown to two locations serving the metro area β one in Beavercreek on the east side and one in Centerville on the south side. Wherever you are in the Miami Valley, there's a Murphy's nearby.
We're a family-owned, independent operation. No franchise pressure, no corporate quotas β just experienced technicians who care about the vehicles they work on and the people who drive them.
Two Locations, One Standard of Care
The Dayton metro stretches in every direction, and we've positioned our shops to make it convenient no matter where you're coming from.
Beavercreek β 3815 Dayton-Xenia Rd
Our original location sits at the corner of Dayton-Xenia Rd and Colonel Glenn Highway, about 10 minutes east of downtown Dayton via US-35. If you're coming from the University of Dayton area, Oregon District, or downtown along the I-75 corridor, this is a straightforward drive out US-35 East. Customers from the north and east side of the metro β Fairborn, Xenia, Huber Heights β typically find Beavercreek most convenient.
Centerville β 100 N Main St
Our south-side location opened in 2021 right in the heart of downtown Centerville. Coming from south Dayton via I-75 or I-675, this shop puts you in quick reach without fighting city traffic. Customers from Kettering, Washington Township, Miamisburg, and Springboro gravitate toward this location.
Both shops operate Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5:00pm, under the same ownership and the same standards.

- Brake inspection and repair
- Tire sales, rotation, balancing, and replacement
- Engine diagnostics and repair
- Transmission service
- Shocks, struts, and alignment
- Air conditioning repair
- Timing belt replacement
- Hybrid vehicle service
- Light-duty diesel truck and SUV service
We work on diesel-powered vehicles too β Β½-ton and ΒΎ-ton trucks, diesel SUVs, and commercial vans running Duramax, Powerstroke, Cummins, and EcoDiesel engines. See our full diesel services β
Digital Inspections β No Surprises
When your vehicle comes in, we perform a digital inspection before any work begins. Our technicians photograph key components β brakes, tires, belts, fluids, suspension β and send the full annotated report to your phone. Color-coded results (green / yellow / red) tell you exactly what's fine, what to watch, and what needs attention now. Nothing is repaired without your explicit approval.
This process has eliminated the "how did my bill get this high?" conversation. You know what's happening before it happens.
Part of the Dayton Community
Murphy's has deep roots in this area. Dave Murphy has been in the Dayton auto industry since 1974, which means he's served multiple generations of local families. The business participates in community events and charitable programs including Brakes for Breasts, Feed the Creek, and the Goodwill Auto Auction.
We also produce The Auto Talk Show, a radio program and podcast about vehicle maintenance and automotive topics β another way Murphy's has contributed to the Dayton community beyond just fixing cars.
