Toyota repair in Beavercreek
Toyotas run a long time, but only when the maintenance keeps up with the mileage. The Beavercreek shop works on the whole lineup: Camry, Corolla, RAV4, Highlander, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra, 4Runner, and Prius, including high-mileage daily drivers. Murphy's Autocare has been fixing cars at this location since Dave Murphy started here as a technician in 1974. The family has owned the shop since 1994.
Technicians are ASE certified, and senior technicians hold ASE Master Certification. Every Toyota gets a digital vehicle inspection, with photos and video sent to your phone, before any work is approved.

What high-mileage Toyotas need
Oil on the right schedule. Newer Toyotas use thin 0W-20 or 0W-16 synthetic on a 10,000-mile interval. That interval assumes normal driving. Short trips, Ohio winters, and towing count as severe service, which usually means 5,000 miles. The advisor checks your model and how you drive before recommending a schedule.
Oil consumption on some 2.4L engines. Several late-2000s Toyotas with the 2.4L four-cylinder, including some Camry and RAV4 years, are known for burning oil through worn piston rings. Read why excessive oil consumption isn't normal. The technicians run a consumption test before quoting a repair.
Water pump and cooling system. The 3.5L V6 in the Camry, Highlander, Sienna, RAV4, and Avalon uses a timing chain, not a belt, but its water pump is a common leak point. Pink crust around the pump or a sweet smell after driving are early signs. Older 3.0L V6 models still have a timing belt. See timing belt and water pump service.
Brakes, suspension, and alignment. Road salt seizes caliper slides and rusts brake hardware. Struts on RAV4s and Highlanders wear out gradually, so drivers often don't notice until the inspection shows it. Alignment, tires, and rotations are done in-house, and Murphy's is a Tire Rack recommended installer.
Hybrid service. Prius and other Toyota hybrids have a separate inverter cooling loop, a battery cooling fan with an intake filter, and a 12-volt battery that can stop the car from starting. See Beavercreek hybrid repair.

Frequently Asked Questions
How often should my Toyota get an oil change?
Most late-model Toyotas that use 0W-20 or 0W-16 synthetic are on a 10,000-mile oil interval, with a tire rotation and inspection at 5,000 miles. Older Toyotas, and any Toyota driven in severe conditions like short trips, towing, or dusty roads, are usually on 5,000 miles. The service advisor checks your model's schedule before recommending anything.
My Toyota is burning oil. Is that normal?
No. Some late-2000s Toyota 2.4L four-cylinders are known for oil consumption from the piston rings. The technicians measure how much oil the engine uses over a set number of miles before recommending a repair, so you know whether it is a leak, a PCV problem, or internal wear.
Does the 3.5L V6 have a timing belt?
No. The 3.5L V6 used in the Camry, RAV4, Highlander, Sienna, and Avalon has a timing chain. Its water pump is a common wear item, so the technicians check for coolant seepage at every inspection. Older 3.0L V6 Toyotas do have a timing belt, usually paired with a water pump replacement.
Do you work on Toyota hybrids in Beavercreek?
Yes. The Beavercreek shop services the Prius, Camry Hybrid, RAV4 Hybrid, and Highlander Hybrid. ASE Master Certified technicians handle hybrid drivetrains and high-voltage batteries.
Do I have to go to the dealer to keep my Toyota warranty?
No. Federal law (the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act) lets you have scheduled maintenance done at an independent shop without voiding the factory warranty, as long as the work follows the schedule and you keep the records. Murphy's gives you an itemized record of every service.
