CENTERVILLE, OH — Murphy's Autocare will open its Centerville location to the public for a free Courtesy Car Care Event on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 9 AM to 12 PM. The drive-through-style event invites drivers from across the Dayton area to receive a multi-point visual courtesy inspection, meet the shop's team of ASE-certified technicians, and enjoy refreshments — all at no cost.
The event will be held at the Centerville shop, located at 100 N. Main Street. It's open to all makes and models, and no appointment is necessary.
Why We're Doing This
Murphy's Autocare is celebrating over 30 years of family-owned business in the Miami Valley this year, and the car care event is one of a few ways the team is giving back to the community that's kept the shop running since 1994.
"We've been fortunate to take care of a lot of great families and businesses over the years," said Brian Murphy. "This is our way of saying thanks, and it's also a good excuse to catch up with longtime customers and meet some new ones. Spring is hard on cars in Ohio, and if we can send folks off into the summer with a little more peace of mind about their vehicle, that's a win for everybody."
What's Included in the Free Inspection
A Murphy's technician will perform a visual courtesy inspection on each vehicle that comes through the event. The inspection covers seven key areas:
- Tires — tread depth, wear patterns, and pressure
- Brakes — pads, rotors, and any unusual noises
- Battery — load test and terminal condition
- Fluids — oil, coolant, power steering, brake, and washer fluid
- Filters — engine air and cabin air
- Wipers — blade condition and washer fluid level
- Lights — headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals
If the technician spots something that needs attention, they'll document it on the inspection form and share the report with the driver before they leave. No repairs are performed on the day of the event — the goal is to give drivers a clear, honest picture of where their vehicle stands.
Free Oil Change for First 20 Guests
The first 20 guests to arrive will also receive a free oil change voucher valued up to $69, which can be redeemed at a later date scheduled around the customer's availability. Additional services such as synthetic upgrades or add-ons may come with extra cost, but the base oil change is fully covered.
How the Event Works
The event is set up for easy in-and-out traffic flow:
- Enter off North Main Street (SR-48) — look for the "Enter Here" sign
- Check in at the designated lane
- Exit your vehicle and wait in the lobby with refreshments
- Your car will be run through one of two inspection lanes
- Pick up your vehicle at the marked pick-up area
- Exit the lot through the rear drive
Each inspection takes about 15 minutes per vehicle, though total wait time can vary depending on how many cars are in line.
Meet the Team
One of the event's main draws is the chance for community members to meet the people who actually work on their cars. Service advisors, technicians, and shop managers will all be on-site and available to answer questions about anything — from a noise that's been bothering you to general maintenance schedules for your specific vehicle.

Is this event really free?
