What are signs of bad shocks?

Your Shocks and Struts do more than make your ride smooth. They help your car stop safely and handle turns with ease. When they wear out, you’ll start to notice some changes in how your vehicle feels.

Here are some signs your Shocks may be going bad:

  • Rough Ride – you feel every bump or dip in the road.

  • Longer Stopping Time – It takes more distance to come to a full stop.

  • Clunking or Squeaking Sounds – Noises when driving over bumps or turning.

  • Uneven Tire Wear – Tires wearing out faster or unevenly.

  • Swaying or Nose-Diving – Car leans too much in turns or dips forward when braking.

Now you may be asking why does this matter. Bad shocks aren’t just annoying. They can make driving unsafe. They affect how well your tires grip the road and how quickly you can stop.

If you notice any of these signs, it’s time for a Suspension check. At Murphy’s Autocare in Beavercreek and Centerville, our ASE-certified technicians can inspect your Shocks and Struts. Call us today or book your Suspension Inspection online!
