Car Care Clinic
Murphy’s Autocare hosted a Intro to Basic Car Care clinic for the Victory Homeschool group on Thursday, March 28th.
The clinic began with introductions to the Murphy’s Autocare team and a brief history of the company, followed by a shop tour.  Students then had the opportunity to participate in hands-on training, covering basic understanding of tires, brakes, belts & hoses, oil & fluid checking, alignment, steering & suspension operation, vehicle lighting, engine performance, check engine light causes and basic scope pattern insights. The students were involved in testing components and even performed an engine oil analysis on the MicroLab.
The students received a complementary gift bag containing a ball cap, safety glasses, tire air pressure gauge, tread depth gauge and the latest 75+ page edition of The Car Care Guide.
The event wrapped up with CEO and Founder, Dave Murphy discussing some food for thought: the future of the auto service industry. In addition, Dave educated the group about the great career opportunities available due to a growing shortage of skilled auto technicians.
We loved sharing this learning opportunity with the youth in our community. We hope they learned as much from this experience as we did from them.
